I love hanging antlered things on my walls. So far I have avoided real taxidermy pieces and stuck to quirky interpretations. The next logical step was to create my own.
This current project is a sometimes frustrating exercise in what my friend Kerry likes to call "maverick" crochet. No pattern, no sample, no rules.
The idea so far has been to use the store bought Papier-mâché stag head as the guide. I'm basically crocheting over the sculpture. Which means a lot of ongoing measuring, stitching and measuring again. The finished crochet piece will be glued to the frame to keep the shape.
